Dublin – quick travel guide

Big city, but Irish. So what do you want to see? Irish things or big city things?

I only spent a day here so I’m no expert. But I did see several things to make note of for next time. Dublin can be done properly in 2-4 days depending on what you want to see.

Where to stay:

  • dfd

Hostels:

  • Abbey Court Hostel – I found it adequate. Good location for tourists. Comfortable enough. The atmosphere was ok. Can be super impersonal with many people running around making their own plans with friends. Here and there, you might meet another friendly solo traveler. I can see why some people hate it.

Dublin, like the rest of Ireland, is expensive. So get used to paying more and receiving much less.

Neighborhoods & Walking areas:

Activities to do:

  • Walk along water and historical areas

Restaurants & Cafes:

Bars & Clubs:

  • Temple Bar Pub – ahhh, the iconic Temple Bar! Cool atmosphere if you’re drunk and sitting on top of all of your friends, all singing and swaying the night away together. Annoyingly crowded atmosphere if you’re alone or with 1 other person getting bumped and shouldered around as you stand around trying to get a view of the live music.
  • Bad Ass Cafe Bar – really nice spots. Plenty of seating, and nice live music. Much more chill vibe than the crazy Template Bar Pub.
